The last set of H&R sports I installed were a really dark blue color. My old H&R race springs were black. Now I don't clearly recall the part number son those springs but the ones you listed seem familar to me.....I'd be prety confident that they are H&R springs.
**I could have sworn that the last set of H&R sprots were dark blue but maybe I was on crack or starting to go color blind, who knows?**

slpr: actually i called a local H&R Authorized dealer.. and they werent able to confirm that code.. but they did tell me that the newer sport springs are dark dark blue.. and the older ones were black..
im just trying to figure out what that code means and if it means it is h&r..
so far.. your post and 18gteg's post are the most reassuring ones thanks guys

Hmmm, now I'm interested if those are H&R's or not. I'll have to do some digging, maybe I can find if those numbers are indeed part numbers from an older set of H&R springs.
I'll let you know if I find anything.
**I would also note that because the seller is pretty upfront about it and would also refund you if you wanted.....you are in the clear.**

slpr: thanks man.. i called h&R today and they sed that they are no familiar with any numbers like that.. but.. im just wondering.. b/c i called a guy w/ NEUSPEED springs and his model number he gave me was h55.21.. would it be possible that these are NEUSPEED springs rather than h&r?? ive heard that they're basically the same thing..??

Neuspeed spring come in different colors but the yellow race springs are the most common. There may be other color designations due to age, make, etc. So don't count on this as the sole source.
Neuspeed SofSport = black springs
Neuspeed Sport = green springs
Neuspeed Race = yellow springs
Plus neuspeed uses a part number system similar to what you originally posted (like you stated earlier) Now the spring kit part numbers are only listed on the Neuspeed website and not the individual spring part numbers.
Audi spring kits h 55.02*
VW spring kits h 55.10*
Honda/Acura kits h 55.20*
I did not see any h 55.17* part numbers but those are spring numbers not kit numbers. You could very well have Neuspeed springs...which are also very good quality as the H&R springs.
This probably doesn't help out completly but it is as much as I could dig up. Hope it helps some?

slpr: no man.. what you told me helps a GREAT deal. i JUST got off the fone w/ neuspeed 2minutes ago. my springs are indeed an older set of NEUSPEED springs (about 5-7 years old, which kind of shocked me when he told me).. this was when h&r made springs for them.. the H-55.17 are the older set for 92-95s.. so im in the clear.. apparenlyt he said the springs normally have a lifetime of like 15 years..
so im gonna keep these ones.. cuz visually they loook like they're in GREAT condiotion.. and considering i paid only 100 dollars (canadian).. its an awesome deal.. too bad i dont have a receipt.. but thanks for all your help slpr, and everyone else!!!
