jackstands question
went to sears, seems they only have the 3 ton jackstands(no 2tons), but the groove in the thing seemed a bit too deep, that is i'm afraid that it'll scrape my car, sincet he point of support for the jackstand under the car is say like 1" maybee a lil more (i didn't mesure) and the grove in the jackstand seems deeper than that.
anyone have success with these jackstands?

I just use 2 sets of the Larin jackstands that come in the red box at AutoZone, for about $13/pair. The jackstand body is painted gray and the adjustable part w/ the groove on top is painted red. They work great, and the groove isn't too deep. They're also fairly short at their lowest setting, so you don't have to jack up the car reaalllll far.
i donno if i like the idea of the car falling on me
, maybee autozone has like 2.5 ton jackstands, with a shallower grove, like the poster above noted
