Okay i have a 97 type sh prelude standard. This kid from my school keeps talking **** saying that he wants to race me. His car is a 93 240 im not to sure what engine it has in it i want to say its the SOHC one but im not sure. I was just wondering if it would be a close race he seems overly confident in his car(even though its bone stock). Im just not sure, i dont know that much about 240's He's really starting to **** me off saying that hondas are pieces of ****. Someone help me

 

Racing is mostly about the drivers. If you have a safe place to do it, then you should find out for yourself who is the better driver, and who is full of s**t.

Don't forget it's not legal to street race, also not safe, one slip up can injure or kill you both.

 

It'd be close, but a bone stock SE 240sx I think would still lose, but not by much....It's a driver's race, but you should be able to inch on him.

 

a prelude is 15.4 n a 240....a 98 ...my freiend ran a 16.1

 

If it is completely stock you should have no problem taking him. Hopefully he doesnt have an sr20DET.

 

i doubt its a DET.. if so you would hear that bitch. 240 stock has no power in the upper RPM range. i owned my friends even now with him at 10psi and me at 7

 

The best way to find out is to go and race him....I'm going for the Prelude

You'll beat him. I watched my bud's 5th gen 5speed whip my other friend's 95 240; the 240 pulled pretty hard on my Si, though...take him on the highway.

 

the old 240 motors are the ka engines., basically the nissan truck engines. i raced my friends 95 240 stock for stock last year and i pulled hard on him. remeber the 240 redline at 6000 or 6200, take it to 8 and shift hehe

 

Are you kidding me! I whopped up on my friends 92' 240 (stock except for intake and ignition) with an 88' non-turbo RX-7 (slow mo fo). You got the race in the bag as long as yu don't miss any gears.

 

Im glad to report that i beat him by a couple of car lenths, he said he missed a gear so we went again and had about the same result. Im hoping now he will shut up.

 

He was just about doomed. Dumb bastard shouldn't talk ****. He clearly knows nothing. 240's with the KA's are dirt slow.

 

with 155hp, he didn't stand a chance being stock
