Sometimes when the car starts up it will drop down to like a 200 rpm idle but wont completely die?then it will kick back up.......and when i drive around 3 grand it will sputter like the map sensor is bad but there is no check engine light.....and to add too it it only happens everyone once n awhile and i am outta thoughts anyone got any?

 

Any idea's would help?

check your timing, and then your distributor(cap, rotor, internals, etc...)

 

cap and rotor have been changed timing is stock........i dunno it could be the wiring on my v-afc but all the connections look fine?

 

check your vacuum lines.

 

check your o2 sensor, may be bad

 

Mine did the same...it was the first time, I turn on my engine, the car idled then it just shuts off. I try to turn on the engine & it tries to fire but the engine won't kick in :/ finally I just kept turning it over & finally started...sputtering too then it started idling ok. I wonder if this is a similar problem?

 

welll my check engine finally came on and it was blinkin 3 for map sensor and 22 for something i have never heard of....needless to say i reset my computer and it isn't sputtering anymore so I think it is the wiring on my v-afc i need to go threw and sauter the wires in sted of having them butt conected.....can anyone explain to me whatcode 22 is i am curious about it?

 

sounds like vafc wiring to me . mine did the same thing when it was hokoed up wrong , it gave me a map code and iacv code and soemthing else

how long was the vafc in ?
mines doing the same thing now with the vafc out , i have some kinda fuel prob, i keep diagnosing it and finding its not what i think it is , next points im lokoing at is FPR and fuel pump

 

i have had my v-afc in for like 2 years.......it kinda was pissin me off cause all the issues would happen once in awhile and at night......and when i had my girl in my car.....and finally the check enigine codes gave me an answer...so hopefully it's the wiring......but anyone who knows what code 22 is please let me know...
