ITR Cluster WOES!?!!!!
Ugh,
I recently installed a JDM ITR cluster in my 95 GSR. Everything works fine except the fact that the fuel gauge randomly decides to slam itself eitheir Empty or Full.
When I drive, it's Slammed empty, and when I'm parked and car off, it's Slammed full. The gas light never comes on when it goes into the empty area.
How do i fix this. The cluster doesn't look to be damage, My GSR wiring harness is fine. I heard you need to ground out the B1 wire (red/blue) for the fuel gauge. I did that. Nothing happened. I also grounded out the Low fuel light, and it just constantly stayed on.
How do I fix this?

damn, you have a 05 gsr, how'd u get that
jk
it depends on what year jdm cluster you have, and from what I've heard you need the newest version of the jdm cluster. (98-up I believe)
also, did you try swapping the back of your stock cluster and putting it on the jdm cluster?

I'm going to do that as a last resort.
i had a similar problem with a JDM ITR cluster. i think it was one of the last ones because it even had the little symbol for the key chip.
anyway, when i put it in my 98 GSR everything was acting up. All i did was switch the green circuitry on the back and now everything works fine.

Your best bet is to take just the faces of the JDM gauge cluster and use them with your stock components. The faces simply lift off when you take the cluster apart. I had the exact same problem. Try simply switching the faces and see if that works.
Good Luck.
LSR.

True, I thought about doing that. You have to remove ALL of the screws and bulbs so that the thing can slip off right?
Whats wrong is that the wrong wire is in the location for the fuel gauge. The JDM cluster uses slightly different wiring then a USDM cluster. The fuel gauge wires are located in different places. The yel/wht wire is the one for the fuel gauge, for the JDM cluster it should but in pin number 3 on the 16 pin connector (the biggest connector). For a USDM cluster the wire is located in pin 1 on the 16 pin connector.
