Default Total Flow intake mani??

Anyone seen or heard of this? Does this outperform the side runner design?

Um that looks very shitty. Looks like you would not have any room around the firewall and also it has no plenum whatsoever.. But who knows. Looks like dung to me

saw the pics of it in HCI, i think, and even if that manifold has some miracle design, the 90 degree bend the intake pipe has to make in order to clear the firewall renders this product useless.

lol..yeah, that's where I saw it. It's for b-series motors and they said it would give you 25 hp and 25 tq more over stock intake mani!...lol yeah and their stickers give you five more....

At least it's a symmetrical design... If anything, it has that over all the other manifolds out there. The plenum volume does concern me, but for a racing application, I don't think it's as big of a deal as if it were a street application. In regards to the 90° bend the intake would have to make... a large radius 90° bend will result in a 1% loss. If the supposed 25 HP/ tq is more than 1%, I'd have to say it's a win- win situation. If it were for D powah, I'd give it a try.

It might work o.k. if your engine was mounted front to back instead of transverse.
Let's see some dyno numbers...

looks nice.

I also agree. This intake manifold theory works time and time again on domestics. It only makes sense that an equal distrubution of airflow will work better then the side mount version.

then I guess that d16y7 Intake manifold I had onmy old d16y7 is a far better design that the Y8 ex manifold...but you are taking assumptions on the manifold itself.. how do u know how much power it can make? did u design it.. do we have a specs on the design.. no we do not.. so please keep the bench racing down a bit until someone who has actually used this manifold and compare it ot either JG edlebrocks design or the skunk design.. or even a stock OEM honda manifold

Bitchin? I'm not bitchin about anything. I am laughing histerically that people base their opinions of this manifold based on looks.

sorry misread. I don't assume its the best, but I have read and spoke to many experts on intake manifold design, and even logically anyone can realize that a side entrance style IM cannot possibly feed the 4 cylinders as equally as a manifold of this design.

I didn't make this manifold but believe it or not I've been wanting to but haven't yet learnt how to weld aluminum. You never get anywhere without trying things or being open-minded. But like you said, it ain't nothing until it gets on a dyno.

since it look like nobody has tried one, I dont understand why peopel are so quick to call it shitty.. I mean its a completely different design for B series than we are used to seeing, so why not TRY IT or find numbers from someone who HAS before shooting it down. Shiiiit, it is mor similar to ITB's than an oem manifold, so it might be a great power provider, once you figure out how to get a CAI on that TB position.... or just stick a filter on the TB
