Default 95 gsr

okay i have a 95 gsr with 95k miles on it in excellent condition and would like to build the engine. Right now the only thing I have ordered is a AEM CAI. I just want to be all motor and in the mid 13's. What kind of setup do I have to run for n/a to get there. Also how much would the parts cost and labor for a shop. I would go to a shop in virginia or maryland if anyone has any hookups

your looking to spend a lot of money if you want to run 13's fully built gsr! you need ecu, pistons, valve train, high revving cams, ti. retainers, p & p head and a skunk2 manifold, bigger t/b, aftermarket header......and the list goes on!

First you want to start off with the basic i/h/c/e. Then once you save up some money, get a nice set of cams and cam gears. Then your gonna want to get a set of dual valve springs, ti retainers anda new ecu (hondata)so you can rev higher. Also your gonna want to upgrade your fuel delivery... bigger injectors, fpr, fuel rail and filter. I would also recommend a skunk2 IM. Hope this helps

list off a bunch of stuff you've heard of in no particular order so you sound really smart!!!

Anyway, I/H/E/Cams/Gears/Pistons/Valvetrain/Fuel/ECU should be good for 13s.
Also, with 95k miles, you may need a new clutch soon to put that power to the ground.

haha. A modest turbo setup will be fine. Cancel the order for the CAI. Just buy one of the turbo setups from 2k Teg. They are only 2500 i think.

For the NA setup, the price can vary greatly between brands, where they are bought, etc.

GReddy turbo power gain seems to vary between people. DB8GSR got I believe 225whp with just the turbo kit (with intercooler), stock boost, and GReddy exhaust and ran low 14s with heavy 17s.

Keep in mind that 225 NA whp and 225 turbo whp will have a very different power band (225NA horse should woop on the 225turbo).

I personally would just go with a turbo kit and up the boost a little.
