Default Best 6.5" speaker for under 70 bucks

I'm looking for the best 6.5" speaker (in terms of clarity) that's ~60-70 bucks. Yes, I know that's not a large amount to spend on a speaker, but I'm still a starving student and the stock speakers on my Accord just aren't cutting it anymore.

I've been looking at the Alpine SPS-1629S, which is $54 shipped off of ikesound.com, but was wondering what other speakers were available in this price range.

Oh yeah, I'll be powering these with my JVC KD-SH707. Thanks!

check out the crystal mobilesound on sounddomain. the CPe series (i think its CPe) has the domain dollor thingy so you save about 10 or so on that item. perfect to run off the headunit. also an outboard crossover to redirect the frequencies to the right driver. should cost about $60-$70 at this price, not even the infinity reference (obvious choice for headunit powered speakers) could compare.

My friend has 4 6.5 Pioneers all around his CRV powered by his Alpine 7893 Head Unit. His front are the 160watt ones and the rear are the 200 watt ones. They sound great with his 12w6v2 ported powered by a jl 500.1

so, im wit gsteg, pioneer! (seriously)

you guys should really try the crystal. well for me, their tweeters are so much better and they have something the pioneers dont' have, Midbass! i guess i have higher expectation than you guys though.

Excellent! I totally forgot to consider crystal mobilesound speakers (I kind of assumed they were out of my price range). I found them on sounddomain.com for 59.99 + 9.95 shipping. Great deal!

Sorry, I forgot to ask this. Do you know how they compare to the Alpine 6.5" Type-R's? Those are $109 shipped off of ikesound.com and was wondering if they were worth the extra 39 bucks.

If you're going to spend $100 just get some Boston Rallys.
