Default misshifted

I have a JDM type R motor, i was running in 3rd at about 8rpm, and accidentally dropped it into 2nd, rather then 4th. It happend very near my house, so i took the car home asap. At idle, the car was hesitating alott, and knocking. Any suggestions on what to do, what may be wrong, should i attempt to start it up in the morning, has this ever happend to you ? thanx

Bent valves. Nothing you can do except pay for your mistakes.

Your going to need new intake/exhaust valves. Worst case, a new cylinder head.
I bet the knocking sound is coming from the pressure plate, clutch assembly.
Prepare to shell out lots of cash for this repair. Good luck.

....why do people insist on driving after they bend their valves. dont they know they can cause even more damage from doing that?

Am I the only one that got so lucky with misshifting? I did a 8400 shift from 3rd->2nd and my valves were fine.

Just had to practically replace my damn tranny/clutch, but no bent valves nonetheless.

I have done this. 2 replaced valves and new cylinder head.
mucho money. I have also done this where i needed to replace my clutch cause I shattered my pressure plate.
This leads me to beilieve why i missed a gear the first and second time.

Can you explain to me if your car was making any noises, or idling rough, hesitating, once you pulled in

No I make sure I know what gear i'm putting my car into at high rpm's. But I know 2 kids who have misshifted gears before redlining there cars...
One with a Civic and the other with a brand new RSX. The guy with the RSX had only about 600km on his car and he was doing redline runs. Bent valves and something happened to the master cyclinder.

Not everyone lives in a suburb. I could redline third gear all day long and not see anyone or other cars.

No one deserves a broken car, unless they stunnin.
