Default Civic Type R available in the US for $25k?

Don't know if this has already been posted but I found the info on another forum.

Has any one checked this out yet?

I checked the site out and I can't believe I had not heard about this before, what do you guys n girls think? Do you know any one that's purchased one already?

It states on the website that it comes DOT approved and comes ready to be registered here in the US. So how come no one's talking about this?

Here is the website for evolution imports. I already knew that they sold the evo's but I had no idea they where selling the Civic R.

Here is the site

http://www.evolutionimports.com/

You can also choose to get the 30th anniversary edition which comes in a red color w/ red recaros and momo steering wheel for an extra $ 2,440 of course.

& it even comes normal left hand drive like our US cars.

So, should I start putting the Si for sale?

Personally, for $25k, i'll buy a fully loaded WRX. But, to each their own.

Hmmm looks nice.. for that money you could get a used IS300 or a new loaded WRX. I'd take those before this.

So how come no one's talking about this?
because that is a UK spec CTR... no big brembo brakes, no recaros or momo wheel unless you pay extra for the 30th anniversary edition... and no supa-dupa-JDM-***** ness about it.

for HALF of $25k I'll make a bad *** EG Hybrid, ooops, already did it!
Or for $25k and a bit more you could roll in a used 91-93 NSX.

why spend 25k for a type R minivan? It'd be such a better deal to build up a eg or ek. Type R's are waaaaay over hyped

im referring to those who said hey buy a used ek or eg and build it...or that dude who said buy a 91 nsx....

Whats the point? You can get an EG for 3000.. repaint it so it LOOKS new.. redo the WHOLE interior so it IS NEW.. then drop a brand new engine in it.. ****.. for less than 25k you can even redo the whole under carriage.. for a lot less than 25k you can rebuild an EG to be nicer, faster, and better than a new car.. just my 2 cents.. i'll never understand why people buy brand new cars for so much..

Default Hmmmmm.......

I could do this. Sell the Eg hatch and get the Type R.

But, then:

I'll have car payments for another 60 months of probably $400-$450
Insurance for the EG is $40 a month (which I think I am getting screwed) for the Type R I am sure it would be close to $200 a month
Oh, and then I would have to live at home with mom and dad for at least another 3 years instead of moving out next year

Eg baby

That is pretty sweet that they'll be over here. Oh, and I would rather have an WRX as well

I don't like racing Mini-vans Type-R's....heheh...if you have the cash, buy whatever you want, it's your money. You could always buy a used S2000 and smoke that Odessey Type-R....

hey now, I have run numbers on insuring a new car plus financing.. NO THANKS. So I offered my answer to the threadstarters question--> yes I HAVE looked into the new Si/CTR thru the link he offered and no thanks, still not a good deal. The car is not what most of us think of when someone says CTR, it is close but not a JDM CTR that has a few thousand $$$ more in parts. Then from a performance standpoint of spending $25k, I would rather drive a different car... EGhybrid or early NSX. If I had to spend 25k on a new car it might be a CTR but not for me thanks... jeeeez, I tried to be nice about it

I think 25K is a fair "asking" price if it had all this;

1)Honda AC $1,545.00
2)30th Anniversary Edition
(Includes red Recaro seats and Momo steering wheel) $2,440.00
3)Type-R Limited Slip Differential (LSD)
(Japanese spec) $1,185.30

BUT it doesnt , its all ADDITIONAL cost

The reason why I was so surprised is because there's always a rich mommas & daddys boy with all the money, so they usually get what ever they want.
With that in mind you would think that some one would have purchased one already and it would be all over the internet and import car magazines but I guess not.

That's why I was so suprised, because usually someone just to say they have it, go out and purchase it with out any questions just cause they have the money to spend...

What are some of the parts that the JDM Type R would come with that the Uk Type R doesn't have?
