I recently bought a 93 civic cx and i was plannin on swapping a GSR motor in there but my friend said that when i go to a smog test it wont pass the visual. is that right? even if the GSR motor is completely stock? thanks
Not sure about elsewhere, but in California, the motor does have to be the same year as the car, or newer, and ALL of the smog equipment for that year motor must be installed and functioning properly. Also, your check engine light has to be hooked up.
just dont go to some corporate tight-*** shop. go to some dirty smog shop at your local gas station. As long as the emissions are cool i gaurantee you, you'll be just find. Places like this are looking to make a buck and the money is made when they can charge you for the certificate
