MotorMatrix Civic Goes 12.4@??? on Street Tires!!!!
Well, now that I got you guys in here. Last night we ran our street civic for the first time at the track. The run was on nitto drag radials and was my first time driving a fwd car with some *****. Anyway, the pass was made on only 18psi and ran 12.4@126mph. I rolled it out of the hole and babied 1st and 2nd trying not to break my tranny or axles.I have never seen a high hp civic run at the track on street tires so I would like what some of you guys have run on street tires.

Very cool. There's a guy here that ran (taking from memory) 12.3 on street tires. b18c1 in a nice EG hatch. His name on here is 9psi Hybrid. His best on slicks is 11.6. Throw some slicks on there

Sometimes on street tires if the wheel hop is bad and the car is slammed it can break an axle I have seen it happen too many time's.Hell James Conway, was taking pictures for super street, he did dry hops for the camera and broke an outer wtf?I think if the car is setup right running on slicks can be easier on on the whole drive train. do you know what his mph was?? Im switching out the type r tranny for a b16 with a spool or welded diff and some prodrive axles and then I'm going to hit the track.I just hate to kill a 1400.00 tranny.

nice 60ft!! remember the reaction time plays no role in the e.t or mph. I just sit at the light until I'm ready!!

o mine was on slicks by the way,
should of been liek 12,9 on streets
BFG'S 225/55/15 are the best

9psihybrid went 12.2 @ 120+ at our last Import day.
I beat him in the second round of elimins, he spun on launch and knew I was deadly consistant.

Hey Mista Bone..
This is Andy, im the guy that was there with Robbie..
we were really having some tuning issues that day .. it didnt want to run on racegas @ all .. it was poppin and smokin all the way down the track.. wouldnt rev or anything. Its amazing what too much fuel + too much octane will make a motor do.
12.4 @ 119
12.2 @ 121 or something was the best of the day . ( only 3 passes )
maybe we can all hope he doesnt sell it so we can make some mid 11 second passes on drag radials next year.
Keep up the Single Cam Nitrous Power!!!

Keep in mind, for you curve-challanged drivers
that some "street legal" DOT-approved autocross tires are REALLY soft. They essentially are slicks with grooves. Using these could give a very biased view of what's achievable on "street tires."
