Straight Pipe at the flick of a switch
Here is the switch controlled straight pipe (open header) I made:

This Ghetto mod is brought to you by:
1) DC CC header hacked off at the flex pipe
2) A civic/Integra Ball/Spring joint
3) Electric Cutout from http://www.quicktimeperformance.com
I go from vroom to BOOOOOM in about 4 seconds.

how much extra weight do you believe your entire setup added to the car? i remove the cat every week at the track, it only takes me 5 minutes, but a setup like yours would be badass...
So is the electronically controlled part of it near that custom exit? If it is it means that even when not running it open, exhaust gases are still going to be taking that turn and then have no where to go...?

so yeah I little gets in there but it's got no where to go except back into the ,main line to the cat..
Yeah, hopefully it still works good for power...im not exactly sure how much that "exhaust detour" will affect power. Definately dyno that thing in and out of action to see how it does

And anything's better than the stock muffler, as well as the stock cat!
I'll dyno as soon as I get the motor back in/broken in if need be.

So how soon till your F20B hybrid motor will be in your car and running? I can't wait to hear your review on it

I don't really think you'll see a major difference off the bat with the F20B setup...I guess the engine will rev and breathe much better at the high rpms and I should be able to squeeze a ton more power out of it, because now i can tune the cams for max power. Reliability in a race motor is what I'm expecting as well. The first dyno which will be basically have only the crank and rods different should tell how much I won/lost.
Ken , the cutout is $135US, 170 with the cutout sleeve...

hmm the cutout is made out of cnc aluminum...well it's just sitting there hanging with no motor I caould try and weigh it tonight....the extra weight added is just that branch off pipe and the cutout.....good question. Not much is my quick answer
$135US.. Hm... doesn't seem too bad.. Sure beats jacking up the car and wrenching under there for what seems like forever. Perfect for the lazy racer.
It doesn't look too much.. I guesstimate between 5-10 lbs.

I'm sure there are benefits and disadvantages to the cut out.. It definitely won't be as free flowing as a straight pipe or a cat removed... And it probably will cause a certain amount of turbulance to disturb the flow of the exhaust. Even on the dyno, it'll probably show that.. but think of the convenience and amount of time you save from adding that..
Flick a switch 4 seconds later.. You've got yourself a free flowing exhuast system.. It's perfect when you're on the street. Some ricer comes up and tries to tease you... Just imagine the look on the ricer's face at the lights. Priceless... LOL

Yeah there are some huge comic benefits to this thing. People **** their pants as you rev and over the course of 4 seconds it geats LOUDER AND MEANER...BWAHHHHHHHHHHH
thats cool you made it yourrself. jc witney or one of those places sells something like that. only in sted of a 90 degree bend its more like a 60 degree. it has 1 inlet and 2 out lets, not sure how you switch it though, i havent looked into it too much
