how does he make legal weight at the IDRC races ..........i was under the impression there was a 150lb penalty for alcohol?

im pretty sure with his rear suspension he doesnt weigh much over 1900........

Nah, jerry works the lanes. Tyler, I think he adds ballast under his front end though.

 

Jojo weighs in over 2200 lbs. last time we raced him i hung around to check his weight.

 

our car has to weigh 2200....with all the fiber glass ..i had to add sooooo much ballast.....so we added 2 NX bottles 2 16v batterys....and some more tubing...then lead..lol

Previously someone had mentioned you ran mid 10s with less than 400hp on just a 100 shot of nitrous in an LS motor.

Was this done in your current race car, I checked out your site and that deffinetely is a beautiful chassis!!!

What were your trap speeds, did you use wheelie bars, and was this on a built motor?

I love nitrous and glad to see you have done wonders with it!!

our car weighs 2050 with steel doors and the full unibody in the rear........

he must have alot of balast in that thing.......

 

He does have alot of weight in the front though. Its probably at 85 front and 15 percent rear maybe even less.

 

So JoJo is adding over 200lbs??? Why would he weigh 150 pounds more than his car has to weigh? Isn't the weight limit 2050 with methanol penalty? I doubt he weighs 2200.

He's not the heaviest one in the quick class though. Venom holds that record.

 

mike i do work the scales sometimes when we are low in staff but mostly i run the lanes and tech. jojo needs to weigh in at 2050. 1900 for one power adder and +150 for alky and the venom car isnt the hog in the quick class Joel Tanzman in his supra which weight in at like 3200 or something like that

The Blue old school HB on our site was the Nitrous only car....It made 300hp and 300+ FT/TQ.....the car weighed in at just over 1700# for the IDRC(back then they had a Nitrous only weight/dunno if they still have it) but when it ran mid 10's we were at a Battle Event...it weighed #1800. Yes it had wheelie bars. And it was very consistant on the 60ft @ 1.50's with 24" slicks. I believe we sold the car to a team in Indy.{I havent seen any money, but supposedly they are sending us the money to transport the car to PRI}...

I'll tell you what, if it was a 700lb penalty for alcohol then we would all be on gas. What about the weight penalty for nitrous? Hell, by the time they're done with us we will weigh 2900lbs!

 

Yeah but 2650 of it would be on the front wheels. No more traction problems

 

The cars would look like Rado's celica. That thing looks like it would flip over if he hit the brakes to hard! Traction would be a good thing though! We are trying to get the best of both worlds right now. We'll see how it works out in Vegas!
