ticking noise

ticking noise
when the throttle is opened, i hear a loud ticking noise from the engine...at idle its fine.
as the throttle is opened wider, the ticking gets louder...could it be the valves hitting?

"check your valve lash.. if its a rod you're more likely going to hear it at idle also."
I second that... cause it will start clacking then at IDLE and getting louder and louder while accelerating.. IF it was rods.

If you don't know what it is then I would suggest getting a professional or someone who knows how to do it take a look. It is kinda hard to set them properly if you haven't done it before. Any Haynes manual will have the proper clearences or someone on here will know them.
