90 HF factory perfact rebuild...yes or no?
I was thinking it would be cool to make my 90 HF perfact again. strip it down to nothing, new paint, all new exterior trim, new interior, engine swap. The only thing that wouldn't be factory would be engine, suspention and wheels. what do ya think, good idea or waste of money. thanks guys
Great idea.
If i could do it over again, i probably would've gotten HF because they are the lightest and cost the cheapest. I would've then dropped in a B16. But i got a Si for nearly $5000. Yeah i know, i got ripped off.

I started doing this to an '88 HF, but ran out of money (it's a LOT). I'm all about the idea if you have the dough, except for the all factory part. I think that's kind of pointless. If someone else makes something better, use it. I certainly wouldn't be impressed if you told me your car was all/ almost all factory.

I wouldn't worry so much to get everything "brand new." There are good used body panels, interior panels, etc. to be had for usually much less than oem retail. I would get everything you can used - good condition used, then buy the outer trim and glass molding new oem.

I see your point, but what on the outside of the car would I buy aftermarket that would be better than the factory. I know I could always go with the WW body kit just like everyone else, but it really doesn't make the car any better. I thought it would be cool to do a factory looking sleeper.
I thought you wanted the whole car to be close to original, mechanically and visually. You know, like those old school Corvettes that people spend their whole lives rebuilding to original specs and then they run 17's on the track. Kind of pointless IMO.
So yeah, go for a nice car with nice parts that LOOKS like it's original from the factory. You surprise a lot of people that way

yeah I think thats a swell idea go for it.....but are you going to paint it the OG paint?
this is strictly my opinion.to take a perfectly good car and rebuild it all the way down i think is a waste of your time and money.i personally took a stolen recovery which was basically a shell and rebuilt it from the ground up.but to take a car that has prolly very minmal things wrong with it i would just repair those and save you money and time.you might get halfway through your project and get discouraged or dissapointed.i'm not saying you will but you might.save your money and fix what needs fixing.just my .02
