Default a Help! Ecu problems

I got a HF with a d16a6, I ran the HF ecu for a bit now and recently got the crx si ecu (pm6) and i plugged it and when i cranked it, it slowly goes down to 500rpm and sounds like its about to cut off, when its idling at 500 RPM. And when i try to test drive it, it lags power and does not want to go and i give it gas it goes, then when it hits 3k RPM it pulls and then i shift to 2nd and it does not want to go, it lags, then i hear a POP noise from the exhaust . So i installed the HF(pm8) ecu back and it drives normal once again. What can be the cause of this? any help would be appreciated, THANKS!

Could this problem be because of my HF throttle body/intake manifold and tranny?

its not the ecu ... u need to check ur timing advance.... sounds like ur engine its out of timing.. usually thats when they do the pop sound... remember that the fuel map son the PM8 and the PM6 are diff and maybe the timing can be a lil off....does it revs normal???? bogs?? waht else??

it does not rev normal , and does bog, When i drive the car with the pm6 in it , it does not want to go (lags, and bogs). But i do believe its my timing, is there anyway i can fix it? so,i would have to use the timing gun while the pm6 is in? so that it would run right with the ecu right? It is more to the advance side.

hmm, if you have a friend with another Si ECU you can borrow try it, its really rare but I have seen ECU's between Si motor's disagree with the car. I ran my friends ECU outta his car for a autocross once, it was a JET reprogrammed unit that he had in his car for over 2 years. We put it into my 89, for about 4-5 runs the car ran really good, suddenly on the final run I went to start the car, and the idle just jumped all over the damn place, revving the motor was a little sluggish. After a little while of this it stalled out completly. Finally we put my stock ECU back in and I made my run just in time (it was my fastest run of the day to HA!!!). My friend went to stick it back in his car and it did the same thing. Till this day we have no clue what happend to it. So my suggestion is to just try and find another one to plug in.

this sounds stupid but its a mistake everybody makes .. i even did once..
MAKE SURE U GOT THE FIRING ORDER RIGHT!!!!!
but since u already ran it before, and ran fine it might not be it....
also make sure that the readings on the intyectors are 1.5-3.5 ohms... if its more or less than that, then u might have fried some inyectors...
