Default engine codes

Help me out here, as far as I know the two wire diagnostic link jumped when adjusting ignition timing is the same one used to pull engine codes. right?
IS there a "normal" engine code like in other cars, or will I ONLY get a code if there is a problem? I am working on my 93 hacth DX.
Thanks

Default Re: engine codes (vrrodri)

Yes jump the same two terminal connector as you would for setting the timing.
Make sure your ignition is off, put the jumper in, turn your ingnition to the on position and watch the engine light. If there are no codes the engine light will come on and stay on, if there is a code the engine light will blink it out
