Default Homemadeturbo.com @ the Dyno's

Well we made a few runs with some various cars last Saturday..

Jeff Ls/Vtec (NA) (AbaZ)
175.4hp 126.0tq

Beau Turbo B16a (10psi)
205.0hp 159.3tq

Adam Turbo D16z6 (10psi) Stock 165k Miles!
180.8hp 186.9tq

Dustin Turbo ZC (9psi)
171.1hp 148.6tq

The runs were pretty decent, We had some difficulties tuning Beaus car, it seemed like everything we did it was just making things worse. I thought for sure it would be about 230hp or so. I think we just need to spend a bit more time to get it figured out.

My car seemed to do ok with my New LS/Vtec, It has mods I/H/E and the new JG intake manifold. Stock Pistons, Stock Cams, tuning with the Zdyne Gold SECU. I started with a base of 164, and gained 11hp on the dyno. The cars peak Horsepower was @ 8100rpms.

My Best Friend Adams car (civic hatch) was just very impressive on the Dyno, pumping more Torque that Horsepower! It did that on just about every run. He is running a very cheap 500 buck turbokit, with a 450cc DSM/Controller Hack. Pretty damn good for 165k on a stock engine.

Dustins car did pretty well too, I wish we could have taking his exhaust off on the dyno to see how much of a gain it would have added. The greddy exhaust is just to small for Turbo apps.

Beaus 88 Crx SI

Dustins 88 Crx HF

Adams 92 Civic Hatch SI

Of course My Camara died, so I couldnt take any pics of my car

Jeff

How early did the torque start peaking in Adam's car? Could you scan the dyno sheets? They were all awesome runs, congrats on the great numbers.

More torque than HP

the CRX did boost 5psi for about half a day then the charge pipe fell off completely and was boosting like 2psi (5psi was ok but 8psi kicks ***). i fixed the charge pipe and its been 8-9psi sence....

9.1 c/r on the Turbo B16a

I will try to get my scanner working again and get the sheets up. Whats funny, Adams D16z6 sheet probably looks the worst out of any of them. It starts making pretty good power around 3500-4000rpms.

It does seem pretty odd, in fact we were all pretty amazed with Adams Numbers, He did 5 runs to prove himself, and each time, it kept getting better! I added more timing, and we played with fuel control a bit, and every run he got more Torque than actual horsepower, which is VERY ODD in a Honda engine. In fact I was looking at alot of peoples Turbo GSR's and Turbo B16a's and they dont even produce that kind of torque (in stock form 5-7psi) Its just crazy. My guess it has something to the custom spring setup for the wastegate....

Jeff
