Default suspension/wheel combo help

Okay, I have picked the Mugen Lowdown suspension for various reason, and have narrowed my wheel selection down to just a few. One of them looks like this:

size: 1780
Offset: 45
Pattern: 5 x 114.3

Will it cause problems with the above mentioned suspension, like rubbing?

And on another note, does the size 1780 equal 17" x 8" or am I just completely wrong?

I have the same suspension set up and I have 18X8 rims on my R. It's a little bit I know and quite heavy, as they are 3 piece as well. I had to set the struts to 3 so they would not rub when I drive it daily. It will still rub when I have a passenger, but doesn't rub so bad. I wouldn't auto-x this way still.

Thanks for the info, but does anyone know the answers to my questions?

Does 1780 translate into 17" x 8"?

If so, will it cause problems on the track with a 3/4" drop like the mugen suspension?

Is the above mentioned setup roughly the same as Real Time?

Talk to MugenMike, I think he has 16x7. And it seems looks like he doesnt have alot of room to spare. But I still didnt get my ride to see how it was. But he might have like a finger gap with the 16x7's. And if i remember right, 1780 does mean 17x8.

MugenMike has 16x7 and lowdons, and I believe he has 225/45/16's... or maybe 215's. They RUB (when in very tight turns), no question about it, plus he has a small finger gap, not much there at all. I dunno about 17x8, I really doubt it with the lowdowns.

why would you need a 8" wide wheel for a 225 tire (the largest tire that fits without much rubbing) 7" should be plenty.
