Well,
as i told you guys last week, i picked up my winter-mobile! (91 LX Sedan)

well i just realized today im having some wiring, harness issues. when i turn on my lights, my rear lights come on as they should. however when i step on my brake, only my third brake light comes on, my other two dont. both my turn signals work thought.

any help to troubleshooting this problem? is there a specific harness i should be looking for, can anyone help me please.....its not safe and ill get a ticket fast if i dont get it fixed

 

This is gona sound dumb, but have you checked the connections and the bulbs?

 

well see i thought that,
but they light up when i turn on my headlights, but not when i step on the brake, so obviosuly the connection is good?

 

Those bulbs have 2 coils, so sometimes only one goes out, take them out and check them, i guess your wiring is ok then....

 

i am having the same problem but i have no 3 rd brake light..checked grounds and repalced because of lights surging, checked fuses and bulbs..but still no brake lights is there a sensor on or near the brake pedal its self?? hwat else to check?

 

when i bought my sedan i had the same prob with my brake lights not working,,,and i also noticed my horn did nt work ,,,turned out if i remember correctly that they share the same fuse,,,the fuse is located under the hood the black fuse box by the passenger strut tower,,,when ever i put a new fuse it would blow,,,so i checked my wiring and it turned out that my horn positive wire was disconnected and touching the frame of the car and shortin out whenever i pressed on the brake,,so i connected it back and prob solved
