next year, ? I dont know what class i wanna run with e R ? IDRC classes?
I Just got my membership for IDRC for next season and dont knwo what class I wanna run with the R
I think either class im gonna get stomped , but wanted to try heads up next year
The only choices are getitn some drag radials , or DOT approved slicks and run street class
Or get another set of slicks and run quick class. If I dont qualify , i will get kicked into brakcets, but bracket racing is getting boring, i wanna get noticed a little more so heads up wis the way to go . . . . . besides me getting my *** handed to me what you guys think?
Oh yea for the beginning of the season she'll be tuned very nicely for 10 psi , later in the saeson possibly a rebuild and maybe on the upwards of 15 or so psi .

your gonna have trouble making either of those classes with the power or gonna make with 10 pounds.
i know , but i got a free membership and wanted to try heads up anyway . brackets are cool and all , but im getting sick of it .
I got more sponsors now and want to try and get noticed even more.

I think you better run at least 15 pounds then and try for the quick class. Sometimes a 11 sec. time will get you in the show. Then your gonna race the top seed, but just be on your game and hope they have problems. I dont know if that will get you more noticed though. From what I have seen, a not so fast pro class driver is like a fart in the wind.
Like he said... Street Tire bump is usually High 10's since it's only a 8car field..
Quick Class on the east coast is also usually a high 10 sec bump for 16 cars... and with all the new cars coming out i wouldn't be suprised if it went down to mid 10's..
My friend ran 11.0 and didn't make the field at the ATCO event.
Also you don't need to be a IDRC member to run Heads Up.. but if you win any money you have to purchase a membership to claim. Though if you plan on running for points. you do have to be a member before hand. membership doesn't really get ya much sept a t-shirt unless u plan on travelling the circuit

well i race at all the Idrc events anyway , and like i said i didnt pay for it . so i dunno
i guess we'll see what happens, ill try it , and if it dont work out , ill just got back to brackets until i have a real race car
Na I am looking for high 11's for like mid season from this car on well under 15psi . I wasnt too far off with the nitrous. so we'll see how the boost does me .

well next year we are going to have Pro-Am classes you would be in the Pro-Am FWD class. rules will be simple and there will be minimun weights also so cars that are in the other classes cant try to qualify for the Pro-Am classes. Currently the rules arent finalized but i will let you know email me some time in the next 2 weeks and i should have the rules finalized my email is in my sig.
i dont think so. i think its just at each event i dont think many people will travel for it, but maybe divisional points might work i'll have to see
thanks Jerry I will be getting in contact with you for more info .
Will there be something officail coming out to members in the mial then with the new rule books for next year or something?

Jerry: as far as the SR-1 challenge in Southern cali.
The reason alot of people didnt want to join in is cause the all Skyline team pretty much dominated the challenge.(from what I heard from people) I'm sure there are a bunch of turbo Hondas out there and can make up a team of 4. but in general, from the teams I've talked to, most didnt think they could compete with an all turbo team expecially the Skylines/XS RX7. I would like to join it again. it was fun. too bad they are cutting it for 2003. it was a good idea

sr1 sucked because they didn't run it fair. (AT PALMDALE)
Team Jerry built showed up with 4 non turbo cars and had to compete with 4 teams that were all turbo. We held our own with 3 low 12 second cars and one 12.8 car
They told us there would be 4 rounds of competiton. But we were told it was to late and declared a winner after 3 rounds.
We overheard on a IDRC radio. We need to add up the points there really close, just call rev hard the winner let's go home. Not exact words , but thats the idea.
The told us the sr-1 would start early saturday. But it was a busy day and since we were the fill in they didn't get to us until 6 pm. By then two of our cars weren't running as they should, and I know other teams were having similar problems.
( we ran the cars to the limit during testing thinking there was not a min. 4 team field. )
Bracket sucks and IDRC can't fairly manage a team challange
Hopefully next year they can set up some heads up street classes that are fair.
Props to team rev hard for winning the sr1.

itr206- rule books will be done soon and members will be emailed when they are finished.
Wil- yeah i know alot of people didnt want to do sr-1 cause of the team of skylines and it just wasnt as big of a hit as we thought it would have been. so thats why we are cutting it and doing Pro-AM classes.
Trevor- sorry about sr-1, we were just running really behind and the track was pushing us to get out that night. and for next year look into the Pro-Am (FWD).

so what exactly is pro-am ? is it street class? and are there different divisions for turbo, hybrid and n/a cars?
pro-am is just heads up racing for people running in the 12's or faster that cant really compete in the quick class. so its like a mini version of the quick class you'll have to qualify and make weight if you have any more questions email me at jerry@importdrag.com
Trever, the only thing that i don't agree is you said someone brought 4 all-motor cars ... but whose fault is that ???????? It says fastest crew... run what ya brung... now.. i admit putting together a ringer team is wack... but i know there are plenty of crews with 4 cars running 12.5's and quicker allmotor or boosted...
As for it not doin well on the east coast... a i know of 3 teams that could have made up teams running 12.5's and better but our team had car issues with them not running at the time of events... and similiar with other teams...
I would have liked to have compete in it was a very good idea.. but i guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

ahh ok, so this class is focused on turbo cars. still no love for the all motor guys.
Some of the basic rules such as your car being currently registered were not enforced at some SR1 Team events
Another way you could of set up the SR1 team challange would of been having a 4 car team- 1 running heads up and 3 running Brakets, using a point system. That way the fastest team would not have all the advantage.
Currently this is the Team challange setup at our local "Sport Compact Only" events hosted by dragracing.com. It has worked out well so far.
Im looking foward to the Pro-AM classes at the IDRC events. Like Busta said, theres lots of All-Motor guys running 13's and 12s that are looking for love
Ill email ya for the rules
Thanks
