Default Hatch motor gone what to do!

I took my car to a mechanic because it wouldn't run.
Well it happens to be that the timing belt blew
my mechanic put it in and the valves are hitting the cover
basically he told me i need a new motor
Now i want something CHEAP!
Any choices
I know the choices but does anybody know what i can do
I mean I don't want to spend more than i have to!
Like a D16 a good choice?
BTW i blew the d15b2
No b16 that choice is insane the car isn't even worth 2k let alone spending 3k on that type of swap

Swap in another d15b2 unless you want to convert to mpfi and run a d16a6, d16z6, or d16y8.

I heard converting was only 6 wires which i can do myself
question is how much do these motors go for?
I know I can get a d15 for like 100-200 since people are practically giving them away but what about the d16z6
do all the mounts line up?

Uhh... you're more of a n00b than he is.

Anyways, see about getting a D16A6. Very cheap. Easy to convert to MPFI too.

I'm pretty sure it will fit perfectly on your stock mounts. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

for the D16Z6 you have to use the mount off your stock motor bolted onto the z6.the dx mount should work but if not then you need the Si mount.
