Default 91 crx si motor swap, is this possible?

i tried searching but nothing really good came up,
i was wondering if i can put like a 95-99 SOHC Vtec motor/tranny (complete swap)
will i need motor mounts? Apexi V-AFC?

i dont really want to go with a JDM B16A swap because of the money issue and i would like to try to make this sohc vtec handle 10 - 15 psi of boost, once im done
(like a year from now)

yes you can. just use your tranny and the motor mount braket on the timing belt side from your crx motor. try to find a pwo or pr3 ecu and with a little wiring you should be fine. let me know if you have any ?

any d series motor will bolt into a car that comes with a d series motor from the factory. so yes, you can drop a d16y8 into your 91 SI with your exsisting mounts. since its vtec, youll need to make some electrical mods. the easiest way to go would be to use your exsisting fuel system and ecu in the d16y8 intake manifold. then get an RPM activated vtec switch. the reason i say this is the 96-99 civics are obd2 and the 88-91 civics are non-obd which means if you want to use the stock 96-99 ecu, you would have to convert the car to obd2 which is a TOTAL pain in the ***. if you use the 96-99 tranny youll have to convert from cable to hydro which is also a pain in the ***, if possible, stick with your current 91 SI tranny.

you could just wire the vtec to a switch ..or if you know anyone that can wire it could all be wired up.

cause your only gonna get like an extra 15-19 hp out of it at a higher rpm, and the rev limit isnt really any higher. just put a cam in the d16a6 (turbo cam). the a6 has a c/r of 9.1:1 - z6 = 9.2:1 - y8 = 9.6:1, you want the lower compression with a turbo so your probably gonna have to get inside the motor anyways.

Apexi V-AFC?
this isn't cheap either! buy a cam instead.

sohc vtec handle 10 - 15 psi of boost
your gonna have to build the bottom end anyways!! $$$

design the **** on paper before you plan on buying anything. i don't know if any of this makes any sence...im kinda tired, sorry.
if youve already got the motor then sure...if you have to buy it...i wouldn't bother unless your a6 is about to take a dump!
