question for the peeps who work at a honda dealer, but anyone please due check out, on turning in yo
Frankly, my 4th gen has been giving me way to much trouble, when i first got it, the previous owner sucked at taking care of it, and now im feelin the strane, now I think its leaking oil from somewhere, and it was making a wierd ticking sound last night, so I would like to know if my 93' accord can be traded in for another honda vehicle? Or is it to old. if possible to turn it in, what do you think ill be able to get for it...?

I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to trade it in, you probably won't get much for it. I'm thinking you will not get much from the dealer toward another car (high 3000-low 5000). You can see about how much your car would be worth at http://www.nadaguides.com

Well its like i knever expected 4k outa of selling it to just a normal person either, i mean its 93 with a 123k miles with some easily fixably problems...but still... plus if I trade in the car, itl be easier for me to get another used accord or prelude.
is there any benifits if i trade it in to get another used honda? Like no "insert word here" or someting?

typically dealers are trying to push as many used cars as they can to make room for the money making new cars, im sure if you mention you're honda love to the salesman he will work something out for you. "always owned a honda, love hondas, blah blah blah."
alright, got some more hints, maybe ill get a better deal selling the cord for 3.5k or something. Any ideas on getting better rates and lowere payments and getting stuff outa them in general besides the love.

You will get more money selling it privately without a doubt.
Dealers dont give much for trade-ins. They have to leave a margin for profit when they sell it to the auctions.

dealer will give you about 2000 dollars towards the downpay of new car. Privately, you should be able to sell it for about 4000. Recycler is a really good place to advertise your car.
here are your options:
You can sell the car to the dealer who will give you low kbb.com trade-in value. Maybe (depends on the dealer) but prolly not. They will try and low ball you (1200-1600).
If your buying a newer/different car from them, they can be persuaded to raise the trade-in value. However, not by much. You won't hit that 4000k listed by KBB cause that's a PERFECT car. I ran my newer body style 94 and it came back at $4030. They will ding you and take away for things such as market conditions if they are careful with their appraisal.
Private party is your best bet. But quite honestly, LA prices for the 4th gen accords are lower. I don't they you can hit above 3.5k cause the buyers aren't there anymore. The dudes who want an accord (and are OK with higher miles) are getting 5th Gen+. The "regular folks" (the guy buying a car for his wife) are wanting newer with fewer miles (<100k). Your best free bet is to put it in the LA edition of the recycler. Few ppl buy the valley edition which is where it would go if your # is (818).
This is one reason i got a (213) cell number from downtown LA. It made it possible to get LA edition ads for free when I would sell stuff in recycler. Let me know if you want to sell it private party. I'll help you write a winning ad.
edit: if you were really hard up for a newer car and were really cash poor, you could do Mitsubishi's 0/0/0 and not pay interest or payments for a whole freakin year. That deal saved a good friend of mine.

I would sell the car by myself.
It's good to have an ad on those autoworld magazine.
But the catch is that you need to see what kind of ppl interested in
your car. Most of the time you can sell it higher price with it back to
stock and selling the bolt on stuff on line.
gooooooood luuuck
