A/F Gauge Mount
I know, it's a bad pic. I got my a/f gauge and didn't want it to be in a pod since my interior is stock (thieves bad) So I found a neat little way to mount it..
It secures to the back of the bin and is easy to see actually. I had to take the ashtry/console apart to trim the top of the bin and drill holes in the bottom of the bin to run the wires but other than that it was easy. The power wires are already there for the lighter and the o2 wire was about 2 ft away. Best part is when I park I can close the bin and it's not visable!
I know, i'm cheap. But it works
BTW: I plan on making the gauge flush with some plastic to make it look cleaner

I had to run 4 new wires for the 4-wire 02 when I put my B16 in since mine was a vx. So the wires were right there where it went through the firewall
its too bad that gauge is worthless......after you get used to the light show at night, i have a feeling if will spend more time in the "closed" position. Thank god someone stole mine.
I think everyone knows they are highly inaccurate but I got it in a trade so in it went. This post is to show a place to mount a gauge, not your personal opinions on the gauge itself.

I had mounted mine in the round airvent of my del sol, was gonna take pics of it and all, but the car was stolen the next day. Used the black plastic from a dvd case for the rim where there was a gap. For you who mounted this, if you want to make it look cleaner, i suggest you just use some dvd case plastic, cause then you dont have to waist no money, cut the circle out and it will make it look tons cleaner.
i like it
good way to conseal what you got, what did you use to hold it down?

Good idea about the DVD plastic
Sweet mounting. I beening thinking of a place to mount mine, but that lower console part will be removed soon. Where else should I consider placing mine? nsxmatt, did you have a second choice?
great job on the mounting
mine used to do the same thing when i was obd2 but when i converted to obd1 w/ a custom programmed ecu, my gauge is more accurate and doesn't jump around like it used to. . . i think its a more accurate reading with obd1 due to the better fuel curve.
Looks cool, Though My father has one in his Turbo Miata, And I have a hard time reading it! jumps around!!

Actually mine is very smooth. It stays with one red led at idle and when I give it more throttle it slowly moves up to all yellow and at almost full throttle at redline it's barely starting to touch green. It never jumps around too.
good placemetn but it's kinda a hard place to see it at.
guess you really don't have to be looking at it all the time not much you can do about it. but good job

thats actaully a good place to put it. You should have moved it over to the left alittle more so you could put another one in there. Like Boost

Yeah if I do need a boost gauge I will most likely get a gauge pod cause I wanna have that where I can keep an eye on it.
nice mount. I might end up doing something like that. BTW does anyone know what color the o2 sensor wire that you want to tap for the gauge is on OBD1 GSR?

I hid it because I didn't want anything flashy and in the open. And yes while parked someone may just bust out a window and grab it.
It doesn't move at all. It's not just sitting there it's bolted in the back and cannot move at all.
