fuel pouring out of intake
I am very close to completion of b17 swap into my 89 ef, and decided to connect power and try to start. After connection my fuel pump ran constantly. After no start I checked the engine bay and noticed fuel pouring out of my intake.
Did I hook up my emissions equip wrong, or is this an electrical problem? Does anyone know what controls the fuel pump relay?
Thanks

My friend is having the same problem. Don't know if its a fuel injector but it flooded 3 cylinders. I'll post details after we figure out whats up with him.
I'm pretty sure its something that I did because it was fine before swap.
Also, this is unrelated but on a b16/b17 setup, does main starter power come from the harness or straight from pos. terminal? . I'm using hasport dx to siR conversion and there is a round terminal w. two wires joined to one connector in that vicinity

What device signals the pump relay when the fuel system is pressurized? (assuming that is how it works) Could incorrect setup of hoses to the manifold prevent the system reaching operating pressure? Also, where is the fuel pouring out of my air intake originating? At the injectors, or somewhere else?
Thanks
Thanks

I would venture to say that it is either stuck injectors or more likely a torn diaphragm in the fuel filter. The hole in the diaphragm allows fuel to pass straight into the vaccum line and into the manifold.

The fuel in the intake manifold could be from an open (stuck or otherwise) injector, or the fuel presure regulator could have a ruptured diaghram. Pull the vacuum hose off the regulator and check for the presence of gasoline.
