Default Which way would you go?

I am going to pick up some parts in the spring. I was thinking of going one of two routes.
A) Toda or Hytech header for maximum HP (and that's all considering $)
B) JDM Header with high flow cat and cat-back exhaust + throttle body for a more balanced approach.

Suggestions regarding T-body and cat-back systems would be appreciated.

Toda or Hytech header will show there full potential on more extensively modify engine. Are you planning for "deeper" modifications?

If all you want to do is standard bolt-on, JDM header with high flow cat. and exhaust is more up your alley.

Stick with the stock throttle body either way.

Header is the single most effective 'bolt on' there is, plain and simple. all you jrsc people shut the hell up, a good header simply puts down the figures.

What are your future plans? If you plan on beefing up the internals, starting with the HyTech header will pay off hugely then.

Otherwise, the JDM 4-1 is a well balanced header for stock internals.

Thanks for the avatar props. In response to most of your questions, I do not plan on going internal (maybe cams down the road sometime). I just bought a house so I have to keep an eye on my budget. I plan on either the Toda header OR the JDM header with a cat-back exhaust (it seems most of you agree that the stock t-body is fine). I've seen HP gains from dyno plots for the Toda and they seem real enticing. But for the money I'm wondering if a full exhaust might be an alternative.

Toda hands down. Hytech is great, but it's way too $$$. JDM 4-1, DC is great bang for the buck, but nothing like Toda/Spoon/Mugen/Hytech.

I'd go with a good quality header in your situation. A good header will create power, and just pave the way for future mods. You'll eventually be saving more money to buy more mods, and a good header is simply a good starting point to "open up" for those future mods.

Would you rather get a good header now?

Or get a decent header plus exhaust, only to have to buy a better header later down the road?
