Turbo the B18C1, do it do it!
The darkside is calling me...... I've gotten all the thrills out of my B18C1 swap in my 92 VX that I'm gonna get. I ran a best of 13.73@102mph this summer with my setup which is surprisingly minimal. I've been doing some research on turbos/superchargers and I think my decision on the turbo is final.
The block itself is a 99 B18C1 completely stock other than JUN III cams and JUN cam gears. I'm looking at a Drag III kit designed for EG hybrids - complete with the intercooler, BOV, etc. I would like to run some low to mid 12's and hope this is the answer. I would prefer not to tear the block down considering it has only 22K on it.
Will I run into any trouble since the motor has a slightly higher compression ratio than the B20 or B18B motors? Let's assume that I were to go with an out-of-the-box Drag III kit and a small amount of dyno tuning time, would the motor's life be shortened much?
