95 or 01 lude
With the driver and tires being the same..I would say the 4th Gen Lude. I am assuming that the SR-V is the same a the State's Lude Si VTEC though
that's true about the third gear thing.
Because I used to always race my friend who has a SRV, he would be ahead, but then I pulled HARD on him in third gear, and I would pass him at the end of third.

Track times don't count...you really have to go by experience in head to head races...
You guys are nuts. Fourth gens are genrally about .2-.3 seconds faster than 5th gens, but being that the 5th gen is so new, and with so little milage, I would give its to the 5th gen. 130k miles is some wear and tear on a motor, loss of compression as well as many other normal wear and tear factors are going to slow the 4th gen down. Equal drivers, 5th gen wins by less than half a car length.
Tis true. Most cars do NOT run best new, they peak in performance in the 30,000 mile or so range, when compression bumps a little, all the parts are settled, etc. now in this race, it's going to depend on how well the 4th gen was maintained. the 4th gen vtec new on paper is about .4 faster due to slight differences in gears, weight, etc... but with 100,000+ it depends on clutch condition, how well the engine was maintained, etc.
my 94 VTEC ran a 14.663 @ 95.29 with 130k on it exactly, it turned 130k on the ride home from the track. Don't discount the older higher mileage cars. 130,000 kilometers is only 80k miles too.
