Default Tach problem

My stock tach is reading 500 rpm's lower than it's suppose to at idle in my 91 si. So at idle it's at 0, car runs fine just need some assistance or help, thanks.

They should be more accurate on idle, though! I've never had my gauges out so I'm not sure, but can the needle be pulled and reapplied in the correct position? I would imagine the rest of the calibration would be accurate.

yes the needle can be pulled off. i accidentally moved my speedo needle, and you can either just turn it or pull it off altogether

I know the stock tach's aren't accurate, but it's been fine for 3 months, i was thinking it was the distributor or wiring from the swap, but just drove it and it's back to normal, wierd?
