i personally dont really like the Turbonetics celica or the team themselves, but i think that it was a turning point when that car broke 200 at Etown, it almost didnt even look right on the timescreen, looked weird.... so for the 200mph

i think seeing jason hunt hitting 9s was the best thing i saw all season. the 8 second runs where cool too see, but seeing a street car on a much lower budget than all the others, he deserves alot of respect.

where did u see an all motor 9? if u did, let me know, cause i sure as hell didnt hear of one, well back to the subject, as charlie previously stated, jason hunts 9 sec run would have to be my very close second choice, beign that hes a budget racer and a stand up guy, and the celica dorks are just a bunch of corperate jahckkhoffs, but they did make history, but then again, so did jason among the honda community. ..

Anything turbo related will always be my favorite, but all-motor hondas looking to get 9 sec timeslips gets my attention all the time.

for me personnally it was taking my dad to E-town in oct and him seeing John lingefelter(sp) into the sport compact scene. this instantly gave the whole scene credibality in my dad's mind. so know he takes me wanting to work on my prelude alot more seriously

Venom Tacoma and Bullish Solaras in the 6's, all powered by the 2jz-gte. I think its impressive because its a 3.0 liter six cylinder. More impressive in my mind than the twin turbo V8 Celica.

Erick hitting 10.2 is equally as sick. I hope he hits a 9 in the near future, its gonna happen

what stands out in your mind about the 2002 season
9 sec street car Honda CRX, i.e. jason hunt ... on a low budget acoomplishing that, the dude should get a big sponsorship for making such a tremendous feat ... my opinion is the best highlight since david shih broke 10s ...

screw the 200mph V8 pass, any V8 can do that ... if Seguel Racing hits 200 MPH then thats another celebration cause its a real import motor, i.e. rotary.

Greg, Charlie, thanks for the prop's it does mean a lot too me.As far as the sponsorship thing goes, I have had some good deals, come out of this season. Like Revhard, Golden Eagle ,Hasport , Jim-fab, Turbo Xs, Clutchmasters, Prodrive has steped up big time for me on the product end. Insane Fabrications,Turbotune ltd, Johnson autobody,Have helped a great deal on all the other aspects of the new car and the crx, But Charlie Shaffer, and Jen Williams, both have been one of the bigest helps keeping a nut like me in line. I just hope I can hope I can top a season like this year's Jason

I am so excited to hear that Jason broke into the 9s!
All in all I think the 2002 season was the highlight of the rather short life span of the sport compact drag circuit. This year the import industry really made an impact on motorsports in America.
