how to get shorter gears for h22 tranny???
is there a kit out there?? or a combination of gears i can put together to get shorter gear ratios in an h22 tranny??? i already have a clutch masters lightened flywheel but it didnt seem to solve the problem of the long gears ..

I also found that the 4 cylinder accord (from I think '94+), 4g/5g Prelude, and the CRV share MANY gears. Enough that I think that the gears would very likely all swap on the main and countershafts.

Hey guys, can I make my 5th gear longer?? I am hoping to have my car rev lower at higher speeds. 3500rpms at 70mphs just seems too high. I figure that if I want to speed up quickly...I am gonna downshift anyways.
Any ideas?? I am not sure if it is in the link posted because I am not a member of PO.COM.
Thanks

Preludes are geared short as ****!
Hell yea.. I dunno what you'd get out of shortened gears, prelude's (h22) gears are very short to begin with

ask corey why he swapped to 5th gen tranny for the Lowe's speedway.
well he didn't post which tranny he had.. He needs to do that if he wants correct info... If he has a 5th gen tranny, then just swap it for a 4th gen.. If you have 4th gen, do NOT go lower...
I ahve a 92 Lude Si. I want the rpms lower. I am hoping that it would lower the rpms so i can get better gas mileage. Don't care for power loss though.
What are the side effects?? Will I actually get lower gas milesage because the engine will have to work harder to pull the car??
Thanks

just throw on an F22 tranny. I can go about 150 probably without getting near redline...car wouldn't go much faster I don't think because of drag and just because the motor doesn't have the power to pull it anymore. But I am using the f22 trany and I can go 80 in 2nd gear at the redline.
Hmmm, so all the gears in the F22 tranny are different than the ones in the H23 tranny?? I like how all the gears are setup in my car except for the 5th Just seems like a waste having the car rev that high in the final drive.
Their website is http://www.prodriveusa.com. The H22a final drive kit from Prodrive is not yet available.

It's not available yet? I heard that the L'Natural car uses them and they only last for a few runs... At least for them... Unless they're doing testing for them.
ya 1300 for a final drive, thats crazy, i just got a jdm m2b4 lsd, shortest you need, just put some ***** behind it.
edit:btw i do have a jdm longer geard tranny for sale, i didnt like the longer gears...no its not lsd, yes it works good...i dont have the code, sticker was gone when i got it, its longer then an si prelude, but not quite as long as an f22
