Question about Toda B's (ECU Question)
Ok, I know I want to get an ECU, but I want to drop in the my spec b's when I do my pistons (within a month). I need to come up with the money for the work, pistons and clutch so I'm not sure if I can afford the ECU now. Do I need an ECU to run the spec b's - I had them in once without an ECU and the car didn't idle. Is there anything I can do to get them to work w/o ecu.
You will need an ECU to run with any cams.
I would suggest you to at least get a VAFC to tune it with the stock ECU for now, and when you save up enough $$, get some programable ECU to run with the spec B!!

Thing is when I had the cams I had a VAFC, and when the VAFC was un-hooked it would Idle, but wouldn't hit VTEC. With the VAFC, it wouldn't idle but was good in VTEC. So it's definatley a elecrical thing and not a physical (lobe sizes) deal.
