problem with carbon fiber hood
does anyone else have this problem with they're cf hoods on a JDM front? while driving the front is very secure no problems but both the sides toward the windshield raise up from the air comming through the engine bay?
it's not the front that has a problem it's the sides only the front is very secure it's just the sides when i go about 80 or more, they will lift up and stay up

I think that type of problem may differ between different manufacturers. I don't use hood pins and mine does not have that problem. Although mine has a different problem, it seems to get really cloudy. Like it oxidizes. I have to polish it often. Anyone else have this problem?
I get the same problem on the oxidizing on my hood. Its Fibre Images and I have to wax it every month to keep it looking good. Although now I have soem weird effect like streaking on it since I had it re clearcoated? so time for a new one.

also, another CF technical issue i wondered about was thermals. since CF will act like an insulator, won't heat from your engine stay trapped inside longer than it normally would w/ a metal hood? wonderin if this may lead to long term reliability of any underhood parts. e.g. belts, hoses, air temp sensors, etc.

i had the same problem with my factor-x cf hood on my usdm front, hoodpins solved it though
If you don't have an alarm with a hoodpin sensor(mine was pushing up one side of the cf hood because it was so light allowing air to get underneath it) try readjusting the hood latch itself for a tighter fit
if that doesn't work get yourself some hoodpins; i mean my factor-x hood was supposed to be ok without hoodpins but watching the sides of the hood visibly buckling at speed is disconcerting
