too much gas?
hi fellas, i got fuel probs again. i have a 97 ex with a drag gen III on it. i put it on about a month ago. it ran fine for a week or so and then i let a mechanic friend of mine do some work to it. he took apart the fmu and when i got it back it was running lean under boost. like 60psi @ 6lbs of boost. the a/f would go straight to the red as soon as it boosted. anyway i just got a new fmu today and it works good. too good. now at wot the fuel pressure guage is pegged out at 100psi. when i get to 5k rpms the car cuts out really bad and i let off. it doesn't sound like detonation it just cuts out. am i getting too much fuel? i have the b&m fpr and it is backed all the way off, like 38psi at idle. i have the vortech fmu with the 12:1 disk, 125psi in line fuel pump and stock injectors. do you have any ideas on what the problem could be. anything would help. thanks
Your first step should be to remove the B&M FPR. That FPR is deigned see high pressures so it will eventually fail. On to your hesitating problem. Are you getting any check engine lights? Are you using stock injectors? Did you replace the FMU with the same ratio FMU?
i have the vortech fmu with the 12:1 disk, 125psi in line fuel pump and stock injectors. i have a continuous engine light b/c of no cat. (secondary o2)
try getting an intank pump rather then a inline pump. they usually work a little bit better with a fmu on low boost. but yeah, the bogging is to much gas for sure...i had the same problem for a little while
