Default The famous busted oil pan and penched header...

I have a 88' civic dx with a b18a in it running hcp mounts. These mounts make the oil pan and header sit real close to the ground. I was driving the other day and I bottomed out on a hole in the road and bent the hell out of my oil pan and this caused my oil pan gasket to leak from all around the oil pan. It also penched my header down to about maybe at most 1" of flow. This sux *** because my car now has no balz at all. Does anyone know a way to make a scrape plate or something to keep this from happening? A friend of mine used a steel plate cut into two strips and this kept the bottom from penching but it just broke the welds where it bolts to the block.

I'm currently designing one right now. Me and my friend Drew (Drewpy) are working on it at the moment.

I've got Place mounts and it hangs hella low too, but you can't really avoid that. What you can avoid is going over bumps too fast and upgrade your shocks so you don't bottom out so much. I busted my oil pan when I was running Neuspeed Race springs with stock shocks, I put the Koni's in and it has been fine since, no worries.
