Default New G35 coupe 6 speed manual?

What is your alls opinion on trading in the 2000 ITR for the new G35 coupe 6 speed manual. Has anyone test driven one lately, the G35 that is.

Two completely different cars.

I wouldn't trade my ITR for anything.

I'd pick up another car, but not if that meant giving up the ITR.

my opinion? dont do it. the g35 is an overweight pig, just like every ******* new car is, and won't be any where close to being as fun to drive as an ITR.

Isn't the G35 coupe a copy of 350Z? If so, why bother getting a G35 Coupe? Just get 350Z track edition instead.

Like comparing apples to oranges. Very nice car, but it's for a totally different purpose. Also note it has an open (yuck) rear diff. It would be a nice stablemate to the ITR, but not a nice replacement.

Even if it has more bling, I'd rather have the 350z track. over the g35 that is.

there both gonna be equally heavy ...which translates into not much fun on a track for me , i'd rather drive something lightweight on a track ....but then thats just my preference,

if i'm gonna spend that much money on a car , i want the luxury items , four seats , and better looks

serious man...there's all this hype about the 350z but the g35 coupe is an absolute beauty up close and personal...i was behind one that a girl was driving and the exhaust note sounded awesome when she gunned it at the green.

but i wouldn't trade in an itr (if i had one) for it unless i was completely over ff cars - which i don't think i would ever be.

I like 350z, g35 coupe is no more sporty than acura cl type s - i like type s, but its nowhere in same class as itr.. itr to me is in its own class.. don't see nothing wrong with trading type r for g35, just don't expect to get the same car.

I like the G35c...I love the lines...but yeah it's not ITR. But if I had to get a second car that would be it. As for the open dif in the back...that's not entirely true. The 6 speed comes with a LSD in the rear and the automatic comes with the LSD with the tire/wheel package (this being $600...not a bad deal for wheels tires and an LSD.) It's not as easy to drive fast as the ITR but it's still pretty fun, this being the sedan my gf has...(thinking about trading for the coupe.)

I have test driven the coupe and it felt quite different from the sedan. The steering rack seemed to be a little quicker. The extra 20 houses makes itself very noticable. The suspension was a bit firmer as taking corners that would make the sedan roll a bit, the coupe went through flat. Going around a corner fast and you'll feel the weight of the car.

I think for the money this is a very good car. Hopefully my gf will trade for the coupe...it looks ALOT better then the sedan...

Well I've waited and read all your opinions. Here's the deal, I just turned 33, (dam I'm old) and my wife and I are having our first child in April. I have not Auto-x in over a year and it has been some time since I've gone to a track day. This is my third Integra (2 GSR's and the ITR). Don't get me wrong, I love the car and am sure I would miss it but while it sits in the garage (home) I'm driving around my 94' Sentra beater car. The ITR gets driven about once a week to keep the battery charged otherwise I do not trust leaving the car parked around town. Sure, the G35 and ITR are totally different cars but I guess that is the reason I'm THINKING of getting the G35. It's still a sporty car with 280 HP and 270 LB torque and its' 0-60 is like 5.5 sec. or something like that. Sure, it will not perform like the ITR on the track but with my son coming along, those track fees are buying other necessities. Thanks for your opinion. I'll sleep on it...for a while.

Oh, I have not driven one yet and until I do this isn't going to happen. Of course when I do drive one I just may find out I still want to keep the R.

here ya' go. If I was in the market for a coupe, i'd sport one...you can get the same brake and similar susp. pkg as the Z, I believe...

The inside isn't as nice-imo:

Too bad Infiniti's has low resale values. The Saabs of Japanese cars.

Well....atleast Nissan/Infiniti is TRYING. It seems like Honda/Acura is lagging behind...especially in the USDM arena.
