I don't know about stock ITR shocks but my cousin had to replace his shocks after 4 months of it being lowered. He drives pretty aggressive and the roads are **** in Vancouver.

do you think i should go for the stock shocks wit 3000 miles on the for under 200???
Not to sound like an *** but you have a 2001 ITR? How many miles are on you car that you need to buy new struts? Stock should last 60,000 miles on all stock. For under $200 for faily new that's not bads. Have you already purchased the springs?

I have 52k miles on my stock shocks and springs. They still work perfectly.
Even if you're tracking the car, you'll still get about 10K out of them.

Sure, it'll work, but it won't be like when it was brand new.... just like any wear item.
I believe Yoshi once quoted an engineer as saying that stock shocks start to loose its optimal performance level at around 15,000mi... and it's all down hill from there. Of course, wear will depend on driving habit, road conditions, etc.
IMO, 50k should be a realistic goal for stock shocks. I wonder if there's any data...

D -- we'll set you up w/shocks before you leave PGH.

At this point, just put them on and see how they work.
And, devise some limit straps for the rear (that's the main problem).
