Default HKS GT series wastegates What are your experiances with them..??

Guys,

I'm looking at purchasing a new wastgate and I have just been looking around for a little bit and the 60mm GT series cought my eye...

Do any of you have any experiances with them and are they made out of quality materials??

I wouldn't mind you guys even shearing your experances with the standard hks wastgates...

Just tell me something good or bad about them...

Adi

I appriciate it.

nice, works well on a Supra, but pretty much unneeded unless you're pushing well over 500whp

This is my wastegate of choice. I absolutly love hks products. I had a GT wastegate in my hand today as a matter of fact and fell in love with it. It is a 60m, but I think its even good for low hp cars controling boost better cause of the big diaphram. Now the GT 2 wastegate is amazing. The whole thing is made sooo precise. Its like half the size and weight of the first gen GT and comes with a color top. It comes in either a 60mm or 50mm opening. Also it comes with a complete spring kit because you use 2 springs in it to match the exact amount of boost u want. The only thing that sucks is price. Its up near 1000 bucks for that one. Im still in love with it though.

yeah like Art said I love the v-bands and the thing looks very nice and just has its own little caracter but on the other had the GT 2 series is just plain stout and sexy!!

I would love to have one (gt 2) but its just a little bit more than my budget allows me to spend..

One thing that I have notice thou is that most of the HKS wastegates rust has the GT series been coated with anything to prevent that or put bluntly does it rust??

I would just hate spending over $500 to have it rust on me and look like crap in like 2 months...

you can coat it, but they rust because they're made out of cast iron...

Maybe the new GT series has a stainless base now
