Yep, I've seen this car before in some magazines a while back. I frickin hate that thing. Gives everyone who owns a JRSC a bad name. Slow and looks bunk.

for some reason i don't mind the rims or the paint on the car. Thing that gets me is that my sohc automatic with the greddy turbo did 14.9@94 on 5psi
why didn't they just buy a black si, instead of getting a blue one then painting it black. the flames are ok IMO...
The car was supplied to them by Honda. Honda did that SI Challenge with a few magazines when they released the SI's back in 1999. I believe Super Street won the drag part of it with an N/A Jun stroker motor. This was actually bending the rules since the car was supposed to be CA emmisions legal. I think they went 14.3 on street tires up at Palmdale. In defense of Popular Mechanics, 14.7 isn't all that bad for street tires up at Palmdale. They actually had a lot of really nice things to say about the Civic SI. I think the flames look great. I'm so sick of the whole "us vs them" mentality.

The only thing I mind are the wheels. The flames look good (as far as paint and show is concerned), except for the fact that they are on a slow car. There was a red si with white flames here. It looked very good (also JRSC and slow: high 14's on DR's).
yeah the Super Street car was also gutted and was a 1.8 not a 1.6. So they cheated in the contest....as did everyone else.
