OT: Prove of shipment of ITR lip to Pineapple Devil.
Sorry for starting a thread regarding private issues. However, I must defend my integrity or else no one will ever buy things from me again! Mod, please let it stay for a few days.
Story goes as this:
Pineapple Devil, Jason, wanted to buy off my brand-new ITR lip.
So he paypaled me $205 and after I found the right boxes, I shipped it out on Nov 14th. At the UPS office, the clerk said the box exceeded 130inches and refused to ship. So I had to open up the box and trimmed it down to their requirement. The clerk even helped me out and put tons of layers of tapes around it afterwards.
After all these hassles, the lip was on its way out and I immediately gave the UPS tracking # to Jason:
1Z 149 X79 03 1561 277 9
On Wed, Nov 20th, the package arrived and Jason claimed that inside the box is empty!!! This is unheard of and I don't believe that some UPS punk would just cut open the box and take out the lip and delivered it as an empty box.
The receipt indicated that the package is 9.44lbs. The packaging material I used are two computer cases cutted and joined together. Those cases should not be more than 5 lbs! The lip itself is light, but with the nuts and bolts that I tapped around it, it should weight at least 4-5lbs!
I wish I have more things to prove. But I doubt anyone here take pictures of items being ship out while at shipping centers. I am not a frequent seller, but I've been a member here forlong time and some of you also know me in person. I don't make a living by scamming people's couple hundreds dollars.
The lip is insured, and I hope no one is playing games with me because I will be REALLY UPSET! I never made insurance claims with the UPS, anyone here knows the procedures?

Ray or Jason:
call UPS at: 1-800-PICK-UPS (1-800-742-5877). Explain the situation to customer service. They will usually send out someone for inspection.

shi - whose called UPS 4 times this year for smashed packages
, but their customer service was always apologetic

It could take anywhere from 1 week to 6 months to get your money back.
Yep, use that insurance.
For what it's worth, I've had boxes delivered by UPS that were magically empty as well, once with over $300 of comptech parts. Comptech overnight/sat delivery'd those parts to me though.
on customer service for them.

this jerk tried to rip me off by shipping me damaged goods, then when i returned it, he claimed he never got it
.a quick call to the police and he sings a different tune
.for the $1200 i would have flown over there to sign criminal complaints and taken him to court, just for the heck of it, even if i lost even more money trying....
Hey it could definitely happen. Last time I sent some rims with greyhound and the guy told me to pack it in a box. He told me straight up that your rims will get stolen by the workers.

Thank you guys for your understanding.
I stated on the receipt that it's an "automotive bumper"
Why the hell people want to take something that they have no use of? The resale value is not high neither!
, Whoever has the lip in possession now should be rotten with maggots.

I just now found this thread. I will say that I over reacted at first, but when buying from someone you dont know its very possible. Ray is infact a stand up seller. A person at ups opened the package up and stole the lip. After a month or so of hassle with ups, they issued a refund check which Ray promptly refunded me the money. He is a great person and stayed in contact with me the entire time. I have no hesitation about buying from him again. I trust he 100%.

lol UPS was pissed when I shipped a box of car parts wrapped in brown paper.. I wrapped the item because it was in a Spoon box and didn't really trust the UPS guys not to jack it. Glad I did that after reading your update.

Yup, call up 1-800-PICK-UPS and tell 'em what happened. An inspector will go out to the buyer's location and inspect the packages.

Sorry to add to this old thread, but I have a question. I bought a b16 head from somebody and they shipped it through ups. Ups broke the box twice, and they repackaged it themselves once and still managed to drop it and kept shipping it with broken packaging. I tracked my order, and to my surprise, it arrived at my local (3 miles away) ups center 4 days before I tracked it. So I went to the ups depot, and they carted out the box, completely mangled. I could see 3 of the exhaust ports just hanging out of the box. So I took the box home to inspect everything, got a quote on repair costs (gasket surface was badly scratched, vtec solenoid and oil pressure switch were both broken, and all exhaust manifold studs needed replacing, along with some intake.), and then called ups to have it picked up and sent to their damage control office in New Brunswick. The sender was very cooperative the whole time, calling ups to check up everyday, provided pictures and receipts, etc, etc.. Well, ups denied insurance since the ups center it was shipped from had no record of insuring it, even though the sender had a receipt. So Instead of getting $700 back from ups, they were trying to refund me only $100, which is standard for any uninsured package. Well, its been over a year, and I cant get through to anyone at ups and i have gotten no money back. Needless to say, EVERY package I have shipped out since then has been with usps, and not only are they quicker and cheaper, and easier, but I havent had a single problem, with probably close to 50 packages sent out.

I am a FedEx user now. I seriously doubt you will get anything back, uninsure claims are not worthy of their attention.

Glad everything turned out fine.
It's good to know that Our stuff is SOOOOO Safe with UPS
Honestly when I first read the post the FIRST thing that came to my mind is that someone from UPS Stole it. The Package was opened there and someone could have seen what was inside.
Secondly I would have to say that given ALL the facts FIRST and then you can make your decision who is telling the truth and who isn't. Just cause you see someone doesn't mean that they are truthful in their claims against a Seller. Too many people get into these clicks and no matter what a person does if enough people know this person they will come out on top every time.
I can appreciate the fact that a person is concerned with thier reputation.
