Default safe for passengers with rear pillar bar?

I just ordered a J's C pillar bar for my Integra.....I dont have rear seat passengers in my car too often, but I just want to double check....is it ok to have them with the bar installed in the back or is it unsafe? I just want a straight answer, no speculation from the stunnas that dont know.

No.

Would you ride in a car with a metal bar inches from your head?

junglist, this isn't directed at only you, but I still don't understand why people often mention reasons to not have people in their backseat.

If you don't want people to sit in the back, don't let them. What more reason need there be?

its easier to say, no you cant ride back there because you could die than it is to say, you cant ride back there because im an **** freak and i hate the extra weight in the back cause the car then brakes and handles all crappy, most people just dont understand

I just don't understand the logic.

No one is going to tell me what I can and cannot do with MY property.

This also applies to how fast I'm going to drive MY property on the roads that MY tax dollars pay for.

Try this next time:

Can I get a ride?

No.

Why not?

Because it's my car and I said no.

But there's space in the back where I can sit.

Do you think I care? Sit on the roof if you want a ride.

I'm positive that'll work, in fact I'm sure I've said something to this effect before.

i usually just run out to my car, and go or lock the doors so no one else can get in. only time i ever have anyone in my backseats is if Im over at my parents house and I drive my three siblings somewhere, only one of them is old enough to drive himself so i usually drive all of them, thats why I was asking about the bar mostly. But I usually know if i need to drive them around so I can just take the bar out for those occasions

Then when I accelerate you'll fall off the roof and grab onto the wing, breaking it off.

Boy, would that ever be hard to explain to the insurance guy.

another reason to not have people in the back: if they're drunk, its tough to get out to puke....

rob- who yacked hangin half way out the door from the backseat of his ARRRR on his 21st birfday. supposedly at least.

well, i've taken a few people in my back seat since i've had the bar and it's not too bad. If you are a tall guy, you can't sit int he back seat straight up anyway, you have to hunch forward so you head doesn't hit the ceiling. The bar imo doesn't get in the way very much.

The fact that you puked out of the back seat of your car isn't anywhere near as significant as the fact that you don't even remember. That is hella funny.

JN who hasn't ever had anyone puke in the Arr...but if they did they'd better be hungy becuase they aren't getting out of the car until it is all gone...

not safe. I went through the same thoughts. The bar is off my car now and only bolted on for special occasions (track events/ AutoX/ meets where vdo is required)

-aoib0t, who covered the bar with some padding to hide the blinginess.
