hi everyone,
okay i just got a 93 si hatch, i got it from one of my friends, i know, i know, i really wanted to get a cx, but the opportunity was there and i did it. it has 119k miles on it, lowered(ghettostyle), intake, front and rear upper strut bars, and a new clutch, it runs great. Well i put my old exhaust on it, from my 97 coupe, its a universal muffler, it looks like a tanabe, but a fakey. When my friend had the car he had 2.25" piping ran from the catback, and it sounded like ****, real rassspppy, so i had the muff shop run 1.34" from the catback and had the muffler put on, by doing this i knew it would give it a little back pressure(which is good) b/c it didn't have any before, and i also thought it might take some of the rassppieness out of it, BUT it didn't.
when the muffler was on my coupe i had the same setup, (ghetto) muffler shop 1.34" piping ran from the cat back to the muffler, i won't lie to you it was loud, but it sounded good, no rasspieness at all, ever, and this is the same setup i did on the hatch, but MY GODDDD, this mother ****** is louder than ****! i know for a fact my old coupe wasn't this loud.
At first i liked it (1) week ago, but know i'm not sure, to help you understand how LOUD it is, my friend has a 95 ex coupe, with a 95 ls motor, and all he has for an exhaust is just his manifold, yeah , thats it.
ARE CARS ARE EQUAL IN LOUDNESS, my friends can't tell us apart when one of us pulls in the driveway.
Well anyways, i'm debating between (2) new setups,
1. Apexi N1 catback
2. 5ziegan Fireball
I know, from what i've heard that both of these are pretty loud, but i still want one thats loud, but NOT RASSPPYY. and i like the way they angle out, have any of you heard either one of these and if so, what did it sound like. PLEASE.
also in my car i am unable to go above 2500 rpms, driving anywhere in town, fear of COPS, b/c anything above 2500 rpms it wakes the ******* DEAD!!
