I am stumped and hope someone might be able to shed some light on this. My son ran his D16Z6 turbo a little too hard and blew a head gasket. Took it off had the head machined and now the car won't start. Timing is good, spark is good, I get proper full pressure, getting 12 volts at the dizzy like I should and it refuses to start. It will sputter a few times if it sits for a while. It ran fine, other than the water consumption, after head gasket blew. Like I said I get 12v at the black/yellow wire at the dizzy harness when key is on, 0v when off.
I tried to get pics showing timing marks best I could. Any help is much appreciated!
So I got a little further and I can get it to run, but dies as soon as iput it in gear. Runs great at 4k rpm. Not sure what I am missing, it's like I end up half a tooth off in timing.
thanks for all the replies.
timing is definitely off. Set the crank pulley to TDC (back single white mark) and then the cam sprocket. Rotate it counter-clockwise one full revolution and see if it sets back to TDC
