Default question for guys with dc jdm header

I had my DC JDM header installed a few months ago and I already had a DC sports cat back exhaust. Ever since I installed the header and carsound high flow cat my exhaust doesn't stay on the rubber mounts in the back. The hooks keep coming off. The exhaust is set too far back and needs to be pushed towards the front of the car but it can't be pushed up anymore. So my question is to those with the DC JDM header did you have to cut a piece of your exhaust piping and then weld it back together to make the exhaust fit right on your car with the new header? Thanks for your replies.

yea I know it sits far out to begin with but my exhaust is falling off the rubber mounts all the time. It must have fallen off atleast 8 times already. The hooks barely go on to the rubber mounts. What do you guys recommend I do? Should I cut a piece off the piping and have it welded back together? By the way I have the carsound cat from SMSP

after i got this thing it sat far out so i had to cut it and U-bolt it

now it's fine

if you can find anywhere that you can cut~ go ahead

otherwise it will OWN your rear bumper

Did you try loosening all the nuts/bolts and pushing it as far forward as you can. While you have everything pushed up (hold it there) have someone go thru and re-tighten everything. I know that's worked on other cars before. Good luck.

yea it already has owned my rear bumper. Can't see it though till you go up close and look underneath where you can see a big hole in it.

i had the same problem on my gsr. After installing the header and cat, it pushed my whole exhaust back about 3/4 inch and it rattled and rubbed against heat shields.

if all else fails... just have it cut and weld it back together. It'll be fine and the most you would spend up to is probably $25

Yea mine rattles like crazy. Its pissing me off. I'm gonna go to get it fixed today. Gonna find a place to cut and then weld it back together. I took it to meineke and they wanted $40 to cut and weld it back. Thats way too much, so I just left. Thanks for your help guys.

sounds like a problem with either your exhaust bushings (mounts) or the size of the cat/testpipe. The DC sports exhaust should sit in the same location as stock...since I have both on my ITR and Civic and have no problems with them.
