Car ignition stuck
Hey, I've got a problem with my EJ9 1997 civic.
I swapped my steering wheel a few days ago and it started up okay but had a bit of play on the wheel.
Today i wanted to tighten the steering wheel but also I couldn't turn over the key in ignition lock.
Tried shaking the wheel a bit but now it's locked and ignition still won't turn over. Any advice what could i do?
Also I noticed, that when i move the steering wheel my back cover where ignition is also moves a bit along with the steering wheel, maybe it could help with finding a solution.
Please help, I need this car in a few days to move and can't afford a locksmith...

Okay, but how do i repair this now?
I tried unlocking it by moving the steering wheel and turning the key but it didn't help at all.
Should i realign the steering wheel after getting it unstuck to prevent it from happening again?

Did you only change the steering wheel? Still the original column that came with the car?
Yeah, that's why I dont really know what to do.
I managed to unlock the ignition using my secondary key(it was less used up), but it doesn't have a immobiliser chip so I can't start the car anyway because my car has a OEM immo
So I don't get it why did that happen right after the steering wheel swap but the lock still feels wierd and doesn't work with my main key.
Any advice how to clean and lube it?
I might have to make a new key and refurbish the lock but for now I would love to get a quick repair to make it workable again haha.
Thank you for replying

I've rebuilt the ignition barrel on my car before. The only specialty tools you need are a pin punch, tweezers and some appropriate grease. Its very fiddly. You have to take note of your tumbler combo too. They're numbered. Keep it to yourself or else anyone can cut a key and steal your car.
