After cluster swap gas gauge stays at full all the time
Hello. I have a 2000 Civic EX 1.6L with Vtec. This is my fiancee's car and we had gone back and forth with trying to add green LED lights to the gauge cluster. They were acting up after several tries so I think I might have worn out the contacts on the board. So I got a junkyard cluster and swapped out the gauges with the cars original gauges. Meaning I put the originals back in the junkyard cluster. Everything works besides the gas gauge. It stays at full all the time now. When I swapped out this gauge there were two silver cylinders that covered the back of the gas gauge and the temp gauge. They fell off when I took the gauge out. They are different from each other. I didn't know which went to which so I made an educated guess. The temp gauge works. The fuel gauge doesn't.
Any suggestions on what happened? It worked fine before. Also, I took the back seat out and its still out now. My fiancee might have stuff piled back there at the moment but not for sure. Maybe something got unplugged? She said she put $25 in the tank yesterday when usually she only needs $20. So don't know if she also overfilled it.
