Are the D15 / D16 / B16 alternators all the same?

 

The "D" series alternators are all similar (AMP output varies slightly due to power options), but the "B" series alternator is different - the mounting ears place the alternator too far back in the engine bay and the pulley makes contact with the frame rail.

I made a d17 work in my d16 the brackets were diff lengths belts I’d assume as well but I made it work nonetheless

$40 make it like new for cheap cheap. It could be even cheaper if you search out the parts on ebay or individually source them.

I just fix mine anymore. Even take a spare rebuild kit to the track, its real easy to swap the diode components, usually the issue from my exp
