Default 99 honda accord 4cly loss of power steering and acceleration

While driving yesterday I lost power steering and acceleration while driving and all the lights ok the dash lit up. I was able to pull over and when I restarted it it was fine. Not sure where to start with trouble shooting. Any help would be appreciated!

Boy this sounds like the car died while driving as the power steering belt probably stopped turning the pump......... That's the only way I can conceive of that you would lose the steering assist. I can't account for all the dash light turning on????

If the car died, it might be an igniter in the distributor. This is what your description sounds like in my experience......There are also other things to monitor like an ignition switch base etc.

If this happens again, look at the tach to see if it goes to zero. Anybody else have something?

Sounds like the ECU lost power, then took the engine with it. Power came back and you observed the bulb check since key was still in position 3 from being driven.

Grounds: check all grounds in the engine bay.

Voltage: it started back up, so probably not a fuse. Make sure your batter terminals are TIGHT. Make sure the inside of your ignition switch (behind the key) isn't wallered out, pitted, or carbon fouled.

Grounds + Voltage: Bench test your Alternator, look for excessive ripple (a failing wheatstone bridge can bleed AC into your grounds and run amok of your electronics).
